EquineCopy is one of the very few translation services in the world specialised in horses
โI worked with Fiona on a regular basis for over 3 years. Fiona is a thorough linguist, extremely reliable and professional. The work delivered has always been tidy and of high quality.
Iโd be more than happy to work with her again in the future.โ

Fiona van der Lingen - Founder of EquineCopy
1986, first riding lesson at my local riding school. Uhm… okayyy, so horses are a bit bigger from up close than I thought. Oh well, let’s climb on anyway.
After that first lesson many more followed. At first at the riding school, after that came the leasehorses and then finally my own.
Both my horse, Olinda, and my work as an equine translator and copywriter inspire me to take specialist equine courses about horse feed, anatomy, conformation, movement, and equine massage and shiatsu.
In 1998 I moved to Belgium to study Languages & Translation. Driven as I can be when I really want to do something, I didn’t wait until I had finished my studies and I landed my first translation jobs as a freelancer in 2000.
More than 5 years later, I moved back to the Netherlands. I took on a job at a translation agency and studied Spanish Language & Translation in the evening. I became a sworn translator for Spanish in 2010.
I am a firm believer in continuous learning and growth, and as a result, I have taken various courses in Spain, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. Language courses, but also veterinary, oriental medicine, marketing, copywriting and SEO to name a few.

Olinda - Head of Inspiration
Olinda is my Mangalarga Marchador mare, born in 2012.ย The first time I met her she was almost 6 months old. Two weeks later I officially became her human. ๐
As we live close to the dunes and the sea, the idea was to go on lots of trail rides together. But life had other plans…
As soon as Olinda was fully grown, it became clear that something was off. She was constantly stiff and her canter disunited, among other vague issues. After a long search, it became clear that Olinda was born with the genetic progressive muscle disease PSSM2, now often called MIM.
Another, longer, search followed. This time to find the right care: what extra or special feed works well for her? What kind of training would help her? Who do I turn to for extra help and guidance?
Four years later, we’ve got a whole team of specialists (farrier, equine osteopath, physiotherapist, holistic equine therapist etc) to support us and she is doing fine most days.
Dulcie - Office Manager
Inti - Office Manager
Dulcie is a Silver Shaded Persian, born in 2009. She takes her role as Office Manager very seriously. Whether she wants attention, a snack or for someone to open the door to the garden for her, she is on it.
Inti was our Golden Shaded Persian, born in 2010. He was Dulcie’s friend for life and also a very good Office Manager, always ready to help you type! Inti loved to play fetch. Unfortunately, he passed away at age 12 due to severe back problems.
